Barad:Finally, one question to our brilliant Marshall: Now tell me whether Afzal should be hanged or UPA government? Marshall, study the case and come back to this forum again Response: I request Dr Barad to read my post once again. I am reproducing it below for easy convenience.
"Fortunately we are not living in a banana republic. There is such a thing called due process of law and justice. There are 26 mercy petitions pending before the President, of which Afzal Guru is the 26th. It would be a travesty of justice if someone is picked up out -of-turn just to satiate the lust of some blood-thirsty citizens who want to use it as a political tool to secure votes. Incidentally, when the BJP was in power, it sat on the mercy petitions for over 6 years." So far as the case is concerned, it has its merits and demerits. Refer http://justiceforafzalguru.org/ The judicial process is over and we have to accept it. The issue of clemency petition remains and we all need to follow due process as we do for all others. I reiterate that mercy petitions were kept pending during BJP rule of 6 years. You need to provide a good reason why no action was taken on mercy petitions by the BJP govt for 6 years. Regards, Marshall
