It's interesting to see the post-Cold War search for a New Enemy
(Islam is unfortunately the prime target) bring Rightwingers and
Islamophobes of all kinds onto the same side.

Mario responds:

It's interesting to see the left wing rally against available facts, not by
providing a rational explanation for what's going on, but with propaganda and
by name calling and demonizing "rightwingers and "Islamophobes".

The problem is not with most Muslims, who are no different than the rest of us,
but with Islamic radicals and the left wingers who always seem to come to their
defense.

NOTE: The victims of radical Islamicists are primarily millions of innocent
Muslims, so calling those who come to the aid of these innocent Muslims
"Islamophobes" speaks for itself as to whose side the left wingers are on.

This is the same left wing, still smarting from the total collapse of the old
Soviet Union and its threat to dominate the world, by force if necessary, who
have rallied to the side of the Islamic radicals, pretending that there is no
difference between them and other Muslims.

The entire left wing worldwide has exulted in the attacks by Islamic radicals
on the west throughout the 90's, then the sneak attack on 9/11. They have
concurrently opposed the attempts led by the US to STOP the brutality of Saddam
Hussein and the Taliban against 50 million innocent Muslims in Iraq and
Afghanistan, with the Taliban now trying to conquer Pakistan.

Unfortunately, if we go on at it at this rate, this 'Clash of
Civilizations' will become a self-fulfilling prophecy, built on
mistrust and hate (promoted by those who push such theories).

Mario responds:

The so-called self-fulfilling prophecy began several years ago. This is yet
another left-wing attempt to deflect attention from the philosophy enunciated
by no other than Osama Bin Laden and Ayman al Zuwahiri, which is to form a
radical Caliphate in the middle east from which to spread radical Islam across
the world, by force if necessary.

Snopes has an interesting debate on this:
http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/demographics.asp

They cherry pick a few gloomy-sounding statistics without presenting them
within a larger context, they assume that current demographic trends will
remain static even in the face of future political, economic or social changes,
and they don't acknowledge that fertility rates are influenced by a number of
complex, interrelated and volatile factors.

Mario asks:

So, what is the proper context for Osama Bin Laden's radical Caliphate, the
attacks on the west throughout the 90's, Osama's ostentatious declaration of
war against the US in 1998, the 62-year refusal to accept Israel's right to
exist and Iran's threats to wipe Israel off the map?

Is this comprehensive list "cherry picking" or the entire "harvest"?????

Besides, what are the appropriate alternative population growth rates based on
"...future political, economic or social changes,...", and "...complex,
interrelated and volatile factors."?????????
