----------------------------------------------------------------- Hi Gabe, I am surprised you raise your blood pressure in response to the usual tsunami of disinformation. By now, most goaneters are well-versed to pick and choose the various posts to read and respond. The inquiring minds know which post-sources cover domestic and foreign issues; which are comedy and those that make reasoned criticisms; and writers whose purpose is to scare goaneters and stop civil and thoughtful conversation. I think the readers know this more than some authors, few of whom like to repeat their same mantra. The rare exceptions use any pretext to poison the well by presenting flat out lies like "government take-over of the health-care system," thus bringing what is now political terrorism from main-street America (see link below) to Goanet. Boiling to the surface in towns across USA, are open revolts by middle-age White men, (and few paid women) who use all sorts of red-herrings to display their under-current of resentment against President Obama and his promotion of women and minorities. Many of these rabble-rousers, which include disgruntled ideological fellow-travelers, appear to have forgotten that there was an election last November and their party lost. There is room for consensus building, but not when the opposition and their talking heads on Radio, TV and in Congress are willing to say or do anything to prevent the country from reaching a consensus. Likely the US-based Goaneter, like some seniors who are against government- run health-insurance, has himself a government-run health-insurance called Medicare parts A, B and D. To add another humorous note, yesterday I was talking to a Republican middle-age White man, who asked me about the prisoner-release from China. I replied, "I was not up-to-date on the news," knowing only about the American prisoners in Iran and North Korea. He reiterated about the prisoners in China, whom President Clinton help release. (The same Prez Clinton whom Republicans hate). I said, "that was North Korea". The guy replied, "Oh it is same as China."
