Don't get me wrong, I haven't found any audio player as good as XMMS.  
It does what it have to do, it does it extremelly well, and it's  
resource usage is very well thought.

But, I won't install the whole GTK+ 1 just to have XMMS. It would go  
against XMMS "philosophy" of using the least resources needed.

What I want is a player like XMMS (more on the usage of resources  
than on features or "look alike") for GTK2.

There was a time when XMMS and Gimp were great applications. One  
(XMMS) didn't cope with change (GTK2) the other (Gimp) didn't cope  
with evolution (e.g. 16-bit image manipulation). I really hope both  
apps become what they once were.
