Nice way to ask for help! Calendaring conventions are not with the way that you are expecting them to work. They do work well for the majority of people who use them. Perhaps I am available for in office appointments during periods when I am waiting in the office for a delivery, or Monday is my anniversary. During those appointments, I am available. No, it might be your purpose, but it is not most people's purpose. If you have a calendar on the wall, or on your desk, you write in the times and dates when you have appointments, not the times and dates when you are free. Google calendar is just like a conventional calendar. If you want to only appear to be available at 10 am, noon and 3 pm, then you need to schedule appointments at all other hours of the day. During these appointments you should be "Busy", at all other times you will be available.
