I won't comment on the other points in order not to feed the flame
war, but the first point is different in the sense that it shows more
disrespect than playful trolling, so here's a comment on the first
point.

First, don't you think that your statement is a bit arrogant, to say
the least, and underestimates teams such as the Universidade de São
Paulo and Universidade Federal de Pernambuco ones? The Latin American
champions for this year, UF Pernambuco, have more than 500 questions
solved on UVa Live Archive. You can't possibly be implying that they
solved this during the five days Petr lectured in São Paulo. Petr's
part of the training camp was highly instructive, but are you
seriously implying that five days of training can make you so much
better as to justify the huge difference in performance (five
questions versus three) during the actual World Finals?

And second, stop whining. Seriously. Go organize your own training
camps. The organizers here lost literally months of free time (ask
Wanderley Guimarães if organizing the camp was a quick feat) making
things perfect, and if you don't have a training camp in Argentina, it
is much more likely that that's because people have not spent the
required time finding funding and inviting people than it is because
of not being enough guests to invite or any other reasons, which puts
the blame squarely on your hands. By the way: Every time you make such
a complaint, it shows a fundamental misunderstanding of how learning
works. What's next, we can't use a book if your university doesn't
have it?

It's fine (but pointless) if you want to make a general playful point
about the two countries, even if it's trolling. But when you make it
about *your* team in UBA against the other teams from this particular
edition of the ICPC, all it shows is a fair amount of arrogance and
lack of competitive spirit. I'm not talking about my team, since I
don't believe my team's performance was good enough for me to identify
with the point you're making, but I know the people from the other
teams and I think the points I make apply to them.

Best regards,
Maurício
