Hi everyone, Have just finish my first igoogle gadget (http:// igooglets.blogspot.com/2008/09/birthday-gifts-wall.html) in which i used the collaborative option (<Optional feature="shareable-prefs"/>) where a gadget can be shared and everyone can edit the settings for the gadget.
While working on the collaborative gadget, i found that i was not able to implement additional features that i wanted to add to the gadget. One of the feature was to limit the number of gifts that someone can offer in the birthday_gifts_wall gadget to prevent any abuse. But the collaborative option makes all the user preferences editable. It would be great if can specify only a set of user preferences as editable and the remaining remains private for each instance of the gadget. In that way, i could have set one of the private preferences to indicate that for a particular instance of the gadget a gift has already been offered and still allow to collaborate by giving a gift which will be seen by all shared gadget via the shared preferences. Moreover, this will make it possible to do simple two persons turn based game gadget coz each will have his own private data to be ale to check whose turn is and whether he is allowed to play and still play with the other person coz his play will be published to the other player via the shared preferences. And i let u guys/girls out there to try to imagine more things that can be done with this feature.
