Hi Alexandre,

Some people are doing this but it's not a way to get rich quick, and
there's work involved.

The click through rates for AdSense ads embedded in the home view of a
gadget are usually very low and the eCPM is even lower. Also, some
people will refuse to even consider using a gadget if it contains any
AdSense ads at all and many more simply ignore them.

AdSense ads pay well when they match up with content that is of
genuine interest to the visitor.

Indirect methods much work better. For example, imagine a gadget that
calculates electrical resistance linking to a well written tutorial
about calculating resistance and other electrical engineering topics.
Ads in that tutorial would likely be about measurement instruments or
engineering software and would be of genuine interest to the visitor.
The CTR and eCPM in that case would be much better than what you might
get from a "Free Ringtones!!" text ad just beneath the resistance
calculator in the gadget.

Another growing market is for OpenSocial gadgets. Webmasters who are
trying to create communities and make their sites "stickier" will
often pay for custom gadgets that are more suited to their purposes
than the gadgets that are available for free.

Also a number of very large companies have used gadgets for ads and
viral marketing. You can see some examples of these at http://echo3.net/

Echo3 Online Services is a group of contractors who among other
things, create gadgets for clients who don't have the time or
expertise to do it themselves. [Disclaimer: it is my company =)]

Hope something in all that helps and good luck with your efforts.
