OK, using Mikes code, I managed to get all the countries outlined. But
the xml file was so big that it took ages to load and it wasn't
feasable to drag or zoom.

So, encoded polylines it is.

If anyone has any reliable encoded polygon data for world countries
I'd be very grateful.
