Thanks to both of you! I had been google searching "xml cdata" and so forth. The problem was I never saw any examples formatted the way Mike's are: as a simple string with quoted attributes. (I hope that's what you would call it.) Now I see that the CDATAed examples use a more explicit system of tags, and that the "html" attribute therfore has its own separate attribute within which the CDATA tagging can exist without being mixed up with the quote marks and such. OK, I have tried to do that to my XML file. Text Wrangler says my XML is acceptable.
But my system is still woefully broken. The page is reading the XML file. I can tell because I have 22 markers in my XML, and 22 lines of text in my sidebar. Sadly, each line says "null." Oh my. And my Firefox Error Console gives the strangest errors: "top" and "left" properties are not defined!?! Where ever could THAT be coming from? It's not enough for me to go on; no such properties are being explicitly defined in my page code. So I'm at a loss. This is just beyond me. If any of you could help, it would be wonderful. Thanks in advance for any advice anyone can offer. http://lovebunnies.luckypro.biz/01_stuff/roman_holiday/romanholidaymap.html --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Maps API" group.
