Thank you for sticking with this. I'm sorry to not be explicit enough. Too close to it, after all this time!
http://lovebunnies.luckypro.biz/01_stuff/roman_holiday/romanholidaymap.html is my Map Page. It comes at the end of a suite of pages: http://lovebunnies.luckypro.biz/01_stuff/roman_holiday/rom_00.html through http://lovebunnies.luckypro.biz/01_stuff/roman_holiday/rom_12.html. If you look at any one of them, say, http://lovebunnies.luckypro.biz/01_stuff/roman_holiday/rom_12.html, you'll see that they all have a middle column comprising a stack of photos, each showing a location in Rome. To the right of the pictures is a column containing text. The first instance on http://lovebunnies.luckypro.biz/01_stuff/roman_holiday/rom_12.html is the text "12-01-1 Palazzo Colonna" The next one down is "12-01-2 Palazzo Colonna." The text on the right is the "label" for the pictured location, hence Location Text. Each of the pages http://lovebunnies.luckypro.biz/01_stuff/roman_holiday/rom_00.html through http://lovebunnies.luckypro.biz/01_stuff/roman_holiday/rom_12.html is a Theme: the movie's Credits, the princess' Arrival in Rome, etc. In my XML doc ( http://lovebunnies.luckypro.biz/01_stuff/roman_holiday/romanholiday.xml ), I have markers corresponding to each photo, showing the precise place in Rome where the photo was taken. I also have labels tagging each marker with one of the Themes (tags called <category>, with data such as Credits, Arrival, etc.). The Map Page can show or hide all the markers in any category with the boxclick function. So the Map Page shows the markers for any Theme or combination of them. (As an aside, there's really no logical necessity for these Themes. I could have just built a web page with a couple hundred photos on it. But that seemed ponderous.) So what I want to do is be able to click the text "12-01-1 Palazzo Colonna" or "12-01-2 Palazzo Colonna" and have the browser switch to the Map Page and invoke the boxclick for the category Theend. Just as if I had checked the Map Page checkbox for "The End." (Ideally, each individual Location Text click would also open the Infowindow for its corresponding marker, but that's probably too much for now!) I sure hope this makes sense! Thanks for any advice you or anyone can give! --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Maps API" group.
