I know it's not rocket science but I just don't seem to be able to grasp the limits. Is there a clear explanation of the limits online somewhere? Pamela - In a previous conversation I think you suggested I had nothing to worry about but given the discussion above I haven't been able to set aside my nightmare of my site working beautifully, then failing during it's public unveiling due to exceeding some mapping quota during a period of high traffic.
I'm developing a free site that loads an area (a small state in Australia). Users can zoom in or out or pan the map as they wish. There is a lot of custom marker action on the site, which displays competitor location and info in an amateur sporting event. The basic site does not load a huge number of map panes I don't think (how can I tell?). There may be one visitor per hour or, during events, there may be 100 to 1 thousand views per hour, 12-16 hours a day for 2-3 days. I can't have the site working fine in single user or small group testing but stop working just when it's needed as many people connect during an event. As the site is freely / publicly accessible and generates no revenue I can't justify the purchase of an enterprise license. I hate to sound like an agony aunt but nightmares will be nightmares... p.s. haveYouEverNoticedThatAt3amAfterHoursOfJavascriptDebuggingYouTendTo (WriteSentencesLikeThis)? --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Maps API" group.
