The email I just posted contains a clear description of the Static
Maps API limits (I hope).

The limits for the HTTP Geocoder API are documented here:
http://code.google.com/apis/maps/faq.html#geocoder_limit

If you are using the JavaScript API, then you needn't worry. We don't
need to enforce limits with the JS API as it doesn't enable tile
scraping as easily as the Static Maps API does.
