What's stupid is making an application that's critically reliant on an external service that is not, nor ever will be precise. I say again, geocoders do not know every address in the world. If you think Google's geocoder is not good enough for your project, try another one - http://groups.google.com/group/google-maps-api/web/resources-non-google-geocoders some are likely to work better than others in different parts of the world.
