Thanks Andrew. I am using the "Experimental" demo because I can look at changes to the DOM. If I add one state, I can see VML elements added to the DOM but the poly is not rendered. It may be overkill to have separate "shape" elements for the "fill" & the "stroke" but both the API & "excanvas" do the same thing.
