I don't want to think of a situation where you have to install plugins to use your webapplications. Don't get me wrong, I like Adobe Flex. But doesn't run on any device (read: phone!)
Now I can walk with my iPhone and access almost any application. Javascript nowadays seems almost as fast as plugin technologies.... GWT is a nice example of this.
