gwt is by and for developers. However gwt is open source and if
desired, graphics artists with little development knowledge(or with
help from developers) can contribute themes on line of standard/chrome/
dark which are already included. Sorry but the looks of gwt's
decorator based panels are not the best in the world... they can get
better, much better. (actually what hurts is that the constructor to
create custom decorator panels is package scope, hence difficult to
extend them for look and feel change!).

There is no harm in having professional looking themes; they should be
included in seperated user contribution download section. If I am not
wrong gwt introduced standard/chrome/dark in 1.5; after that I
expected many more css's would be contributed by artists who work in
gwt related projets. but none came :(
