unclear? If it detects an existing Windows installation, with enough free space, it will simply ask if you want to share hard-disk space with it. Windows does not even attempt sharing disk-space with another OS. It has a partitioner, but that can only wipe partitions clean.
What you -should- do is defragmenting Windows, without defragmenting there isn't enough free unused space at the end of the harddisk space for a partitioner to safely split of a partition. As long as you do not choose "use whole disk", or muck around with the "manual partitioning" (that is for experts) you should be fine, but backup anyway, you should never even attempt running a partitioner on an existing filing system without backing up what is dear to you and cannot be replaced.
