Maybe it was just the screen saver kicking in, I always turn it off because I have seen installs crashing when it started. I think the installer should turn it off automatically. Just reboot and see what happens, in the worst case you just have to try again. Normally it takes just a minute or so after all the files are installed to finish the installation.
