Michael, I think your are gravely mistaken, and that the delay in responding is causing far more damage. The fact is that Mozilla have known for some days now just how the message from Mitchell is being received by a majority of users, and it is contrary to the assurances some have given here in support of Mozilla and Brendan. The fact is that Mozilla have not taken down this blog post which makes a mockery of claims that Mitchell was apologizing for the delay responding.
If an organization posts a misleading message that is causing massive damage then it stands to reason that it would take down the message immediately, yet this has not occurred after 5 days. This is very very telling. I applaud those who have responded here defending Mozilla and Brendan. Could someone please step up and take down Mitchell's blog post and take down the FAQ too until a new response it prepared. Is this one smaller? I do, mostly because the external indicators are that the story is fading as misinformation is corrected, and more truth comes out. Most of the current reaction is based on bad information or outright lies. The storm last week was orders of magnitude bigger and trending in the other direction.
