I just checked the ACIR site. Still doesn't work with Mozilla.
Unbelievable.
There are some institutions with know how regarding www technology (AMH should
be commended for their web interface to their drug database - works flawless
in all browsers I tested!), and some simply have no expertise at all
ACIR are even worse than the latter category - on top of lacking expertise,
they are completely disinterested in getting their act together webwise. They
know about this problem for several years now and simply ignore it.
While we GPs can afford to simply ignore ACIR - can they really afford to
loose our data input?
Horst,
A number of packages allow lodgement of ACIR data as part of Medicare
Online. The scenario is that the immunisation details are recorded in
the patient's immunisation record and these are lifted and sent as a
batch to Medicare Australia in a similar way to bulk bill batches.
This functionality was also available in Medclaims and even via the
Healthpoint device.
In many ways this is a superior system to the website as once the data
is entered in the record the rest is basically automatic. I know that
for you the key generation issue is an impediment to using it, but it
may not be for others on the list who may be unaware of this
transmission option.
They may be advised to contact their software provider about it.
