Medicare Online is another flop we simply ignore until - we can use it on a platform of our choice (Linux - dongle drivers still don't have materialized, and interface still proprietary and closed) - we can generate our own secret keys (I will never consider performing substantial financial transactions for which I will be liable if they are signed with my key if I cannot be confident that there is no copy of the key elsewhere) In the meantime, our system is dead simple - patients hand over the cash at the counter and it is *their* problem dealing with the Medicare tantrums.
