Of course you're right, it's all nonsense. George Bush is both
intelligent and honorable, no Government would ever lie to the
people, Telstra makes life easier, Nortons will keep your PC safe,
Australian Idol is full of talent. We should eradicate all these
loonies who question anything authority tells us.

No, I really believe George Bush is an idiot, the government
does lie and obfuscate, Haliburton did profit enourmously
from the war in Iraq, the US probably doctored the evidence about
WMD etc.. these are all great stories that should be investigated
to the hilt. I don't think anyone who questions stuff like this
is a loony.

But the minute people make the leap from general
government corruption to huge conspiracy theories (where the
vast majority of evidence points to another simpler rational
explanation, and the conspiracy theory isn't really backed by
much evidence at all) - that's when I put them into the
loony basket.

But you know, if people can come up with
scientific reasons showing why the buildings must have been
blown up by other methods, they should submit it to some
structural engineering journal and they can have a debate
with some experts.. convince the experts and then I'm willing
to give it a bit of credence (you could write everything I
know about the behaviour of steel under load at high
temperatures on a tiny little postit note, so who am I
to question people who actually do this stuff for a living?)
