I have successfully used registry hacks to convert
demo versions (eg. 120-day versions) of W2000/2003
Server to full working versions , EXCEPT that it was
never possible to use terminal services beyond 30
days - there was never a hack or workaround that
could bypass the need for purchasing the terminal
services licenses :-( ... All of this done for research
purposes and a better understanding of the product,
of course.

After testing XP Pro with Winconnect XP Server,
I found that this did all that was required in our practice
and was significantly cheaper than W2k Server.

So, I have purchased and installed Winconnect
XP Server. BUT:

1) I am sure that W2k Server is much faster when
used as a terminal server across the LAN.

2) Does rdesktop access a Winconnect XP Server
or only a W2000/2003 Server or Windows NT TS ?
