Argus filters out SPAM of course at the receiver's end because it can
reject all non-HL7 messages and also can be set up to ignore all
non-encrypted messages. So the user doesnt even see any SPAM. However
I do concede that this doesnt remove the potential for increase in email
traffic which might impede performance if it got too out of hand.
However our tests show tthat this increase in traffic would have to be
quite large to have any affect on performance. And anyway, when SPAM
gets to that level, most ISPs filter it out.
