Yes, but if you wish, you local client computers can act as network print 
servers too.

Only benefit of having separate print servers is that it makes you local 
client PCs zero-configuration zero-installation replaceable

Currently I am working on making old IBM netvista thin clients act as local 
print servers (among other things) - they are dead cheap on ebay, versatile, 
and can serve a large number of printers via USB hub (and in the worst case 
scenario even replace my desktop client, albeit only up to 1024x768 screen 
dimensions)
