Our labs send in HL7 but the "version" used is not compatible with Locum

No

Yes. We have installed Argus and a work around to incorporate linking to
Locum but very few specialists using it and our Division not promoting
it. I have discussed it with a number of specialists and they are
vaguely interested but all are too busy to deal with this side of their
practices. We need the equivalent of Divisional/IT support people to
assist specialists to get this going.

Argus. Free and we could link it in with Locum (just). Open source also
a factor. Locum response has been to incorporate their own messaging
system which won't work in our set up because of the Practice Management
System we use with Locum will not work with it (TotalCare).

If it was used it would have paid off as we only had to pay for a text
to HTML converter program (about $45)

Q.Are you receiving any encrypted communications from your local hospital?
A.-no. Despite having a very IT literate hospital (and small) they would
rather send a fax from their computer system than deal with encrypted
e-mail to one of many practices they deal with.
