Instead whenever someone mentions Windows or a Microsoft product they get shouted down by Linux advocates telling them how much better Linux is.

Somewhat tedious and explains why I neglect to participate from time to time.

Anyone else feel the same ?

Not me. Linux _is_ better.

Running OSCAR, on Linux, of course :-)

Desktops - linux
Laptops - (mine and my wifes) - Linux

.....and still I get asked to fix the Windows machines of other.....not been asked to fix a Linux on yet though :-)

Avoiding the discussion doesn't strike me as a fix.

I spend days trying to get Windows machines up and keep them running.

Today my linux box wouldn't connect to the net. I if-down and up ed, .../networking restart ed, and adsl-stop ped and adsl-start ed. Nothing worked. I even rebooted, which made no difference, of course. Then I turned the modem off and on again and got connectivity. So it wasn't the linux box at all.

It is said linux is hard to configure and that is true for Windows users since it's different. However, once set it will run for years.
