I mention that I don't recommend Windows in a discussion of draconian
Microsoft licensing, and I'm a one eyed Linux zealot?
If that's how you see it you're wrong. I see the Mac as the real
alternative to Windows on the desktop and it seems the rest of the
world (outside of this very slow (technically) industry) agrees with me.
I’m surprised there hasn’t really been any mention of lack of
tested medical apps for Vista,
I've seen two Vista PCs running in a business situation and both
users regretted the upgrade. Really it's a pretty upgrade and a small
step forward provided nothing you do has DRM, but it's slower than XP
on the same hardware and just not ready for business yet.
the upcoming release of BP accounting which will hopefully replace
PS3 wholesale and rid us of its special way of adding up dollars.
Is everyone to scared to critise HCN anymore ?
BP accounting has been out for a few months. Like any near monopoly,
there'll be no wholesale replacement of HCN products but a slow eroding.
I'm not scared to criticise HCN but only do so when criticism is due.
Their biggest failing was the choice of database engine and I've said
that enough times to be boring. Apart from that I see nothing but
slow and steady improvement.
Instead whenever someone mentions Windows or a Microsoft product
they get shouted down by Linux advocates telling them how much
better Linux is.
Somewhat tedious and explains why I neglect to participate from
time to time.
Anyone else feel the same ?
I hope not Andrew, because I just don't see this happening. There
wasn't any shouting nor any mention of Linux in what I (speaking for
all Linux zealots present) said.
I also highly value your participation in this group. You are a
clever and careful tech who knows how to implement a medical network
well, and that's a rare breed indeed.
regards,
Peter.
