I am in this exact situation having joined a group using Practix. Practix is a different animal to Spectrum John. Assuming they were an MSS classic site, they've in the last few years been through an expensive conversion process and probably have no motivation to go through another one. The continued degrading of support from IBA may be a factor as would the issues that seem to arrive with every upgrade, but this is probably not enough pain to have them looking for an alternative. I guess the forthcoming Stathealth will be worth looking at for those sites, in almost exactly the same way that Best Practice is a good alternative for MDW2 sites. Apart from that I'd recommend Genie or Totalcare, both of whom will offer them stability and excellent support, but a fairly high learning curve. You guys use this software all day every day. I can't begin to imagine what that is really like, and I guess it's not surprising that change is so often resented even when the improvements are huge. I hope you and Anne are well and happy in your new abode. cheers, Peter.
