I discussed this last year with a friend (ex GP who works solely in IT now) This friend did our conversion of demographic data only from an old DOS prog to MSS Classic in '98. In a long conversation he hinted at the time it might take to make tests leading up to a conversion routine. All the technical difficulties and how much data you are prepared to keep/lose. Also depends on things like how the drug information is stored. He finally suggested it was a viable proposition to convert the demographics and "start again". $500 for a QUOTE seems fair.
I think the situation is totally unacceptable and is holding back real medical computing, as we are in a virtual lock-in. GP Accreditation would have a fit if we hinted that we could lose 50% of our patient record system so easily. Having said that, Genie does a magically complete import from MSS. It makes a viable alternative to MD. jh On Friday 22 June 2007 8:19 am, Mark Evans wrote: > Looking for help > Is anyone aware of any vendors capable of exporting Spectrum Classic to > MD3? > > Details are laid out in the message below > > Regards, > Mark Evans > > > > From: Jane Ford [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Friday, 22 June 2007 9:48 AM > To: Mark Evans > Subject: Spectrum Classic to Medical Director conversion > Importance: High > > Mark > > Could you please post this to both the IMIT-Policy and GPCG lists? > > TIA > > > Hi Guys > > I have posted this to the SA-IT list and so far have not received any > leads.
