Yes Murray and his team at Higher-reason are pretty damn good. Not cheap but
good.

I have used them a few times but not for the conversion you are suggesting.

I sort of agree with peter.m comments about why go to mdw3 !!!

But my feeling is really if the incoming vendor of clinical software cannot
organise the technicalities of the conversion from a practices existing
package to theirs

Then you don't want to go to that package as they might be lacking somewhat
in basic technical skills might they not ?

I would try and talk the clinic into going to PractiX as it is nearly a free
conversion and then go to Stathealths (getting a preview next week) new
product early next year.

This will ensure all the data comes across in a useable format.

I have seen quite a few times where the incoming vendor converts the data
but it is then not searchable and renders the reports from data extraction
tools useless.

Shexie can convert MSS data but their package is really aimed at
specialists.

BPsoftware might have a conversion.

Totalcare probably does J

Profile does L (if you want to go there.)

Mark

Could you please post this to both the IMIT-Policy and GPCG lists?

TIA

Hi Guys

I have posted this to the SA-IT list and so far have not received any leads.
Julian Flint suggested I ask more widely - hence this email. Any feedback
would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone have any ideas on companies able to do a conversion from
Spectrum Classic to MDW3?

One of my practices has contacted HCN about the conversion and they have
suggested that this needs to take place via a third party and HCN provided
him a lead. This (interstate) company has suggested that a copy of the back
up along with a $500 cheque should be posted to them to enable a quote to be
provided. Not all that encouraging.

Is anyone aware of any companies who can give a quote without a relatively
substantial fee to provide a quote?

The Spectrum system is based on Fox pro and they practice has 6500 - 7000
patients on the database.

TIA
