it is not about Devika, I do not know her asmuch as you do not or do
It is about how women are constructed in our collective imaginations and how
we "spontaneously" respond using a certain language thats programmed in us..
I think that was what aryan and others were talking about
It is not only about women, it is also about out constructions of our own
histories within the frameworks of our identities... It is as much as about
being a Nair or a Pulayan and what histories and mythologies we use to tell
our histories
Devikas point about aggression is also about that.... we, often do not
realise that inherited notions of justness that we live with, for instance,
that we use swear words and metaphors for injustice, "whore" in this context
being a good example...
Devika's metaphor of sexual violencein this case then is true,
I hope we collectively decide to avoid such unpleasantness in future and
behave in a civil manner in this forum
