Dear friends, As the question of supporting or opposing moderation/censorship against use of sexist expressions in this small discussion forum hots up, at least a few people seem to end up as being antagonistically disposed to each other! Perhaps this must be one of the reasons why organized bullying (with the tacit support of a section of the mainstream vernacular press and the State's agency)on individuals and minority groups(not necessarily religious alone) go unchallenged. The easeness with which a hate-speech by a Mumbai-based rightwing student leader on 'misuse' of a popular cyberspace(ORKUT) endangering the honour of The Nation (and hence the urgent need for a crackdown) , just walked into the vernacular 'left' daily( Deshabhimani) today in its 7th page (exclusive national news), sounding like a benign expression of concern for National Pride and Communal Harmony might help to re-orient, at least, vis-a-vis those part of our selves that builds up unnecessary hate, rather than understanding.
