hi Mr Venugopal has initiated a debate which many so called "intellectuals" refuse to undertake or not even able to digest bz of the misguided/overemphasised class deterministic discourse of old marxism.. and the religious following of revisionist communism as "revolutionary" and radical... Chitralekha, Rajni S Anand, Neetu pose challenges to this hegemonic class discourse which the mallu intellectual and feminists(of course "upper" castes) conveniently avoid... for them such discourses should be limited to cocktail dinner talks after seminars... i must congradulate venugopal for his efforts to do something substantial for Dalits which in UP or Bihar would be much easier to do than in Progressive Kerala. as u r aware Dalit organisations across the state are fighting for human rights, but the mainstream discourses neglect these small but big struggles for dignity... on the other hand people with brahmincal orientation such as Anand, rajshekharan, rajagopalan etc etc are given more spaces in media, whic h tend to remain a nair discoursinfg on dalits...these matrubumi nair hegemonising should be challeneged... the inhuman nature of the way dalit issues are dealt in kerala should be a matter of concern for the intellectual collectivities in the region....if not, their debates ends up for mobilising support for fake leaders like achutanandan... even a local secretary in kerala has more power than the intellectuals such unfortunate situation has been a creation of CPI(M) which has been interumental in perpetuating caste through its party machinery... i request all to support venugopal in bring to light the issue of chitralekha, which should not be seen as a small local issue, rather it posses the possibility of problematising the hegemonic left that has engulfd kerala It is high time for us to think when many run autos in kerala, why only dalit woman's auto gets burnt by the CITU???? if u cant find answers for this question, u will never able to find answers for any questions on Keralam... PLS LEND SUPPORT to VENUGOPAL IN CHITRALEKHA ISSUE RESPECT CHITRALEKHA"S RESISTANCE! RESPECT DALITS!! Wake up Kerala!! regards
