...issues in which dileep raj's heros and heroins participate enmasse in the name of the downtrodden... and i dont expect any thing from either dileep raj or sara josesh or ajitha as i am very clear abt to what extent these people can go as far as dalit cause is concerned...
Ha Ha Mr. Ranjith, I don't think verbal violence will help in attcking your one and only enemy-- cultural leaders. First you empowered them by expecting their support on all issues. Then you tried to deny that added prestige to them. I don't think this is in the priorities of anybody connected to the movements. Such nonissues become the major point of debate when somebody try to compete with the Samskarika Nayakanmar in their own terms. You are in fact trying to share the cultural capital through such 'positiontaking'. Relation between activism and cultural field is not as simple as you assume it to be. The politics of such fields need specific investigations. I have nothing against you entering this field and sharing the ' privilege' Good Luck to you! If the issue is 'Samskarika Nayakar' I have that much to say. But just because I questioned your way of attacking certain individuals, you brand me as a 'Samskarika Nayakan' and made "Dileep Raj" into an issue!!! Thses are the worn out atrategy of a section of the "Samskarika Nayakar' in Malayalam print media. Good luck to you with this undemocratic branding as well!! Just because you brand me as a 'samskarika Nayakan' I am not going to die crying 'Ningalenne Samskarika Nayakanakki'. I just withdraw from any further discussion with Ranjith in this forum. I never dreamt that somebody will be 'competing' with me in this space. You should better try in platforms in which Ajitha or SaraJoseph will also be participating. Yours is a displaced discourse. You are releasing all your anger on somebody who volunteer to be dialogic. Such readymade undemocratic strategies will have takers in Kerala. But I still believe that one should substantiate one's allegations. Also, while it is legitimate to expose the hollowness of political standpoints, I strongly believe that demanding response from certain individuls on [ instead of questionng their silence] all issues is undemocratic. To my knowledge, there have been no dearth of issues in Kerala. But resistence happen rarely. Commitment and involvement of people over a long period of time make it happen. When it come into the limelight VSAchuthanadans [ who intially might have remained silent or even stood against it ] will appear and offer verbal support. The "Ranjith Yukthi' is quite often used in Kerala to delegitimse such civil society movements. While the Prassinikkadavu snake park issue was raised, DYFI commenced a campaign that why 'these intellectuals' are reamining silent on massacre [of men not snakes] in Bombay . Why should we critcise somebody [ just because they are doing something on certain issues] for what they are not doing? Isn't exposing themeselves? I don't find my presence or absence as a crucial factor in the evolution of Dalit movement in Kerala. If Mr. Ranjith is trying to tell me that once he brand me as something I won't have the freedom to express my views or act as I wish,......Go to hell man!! -- Dileep Raj Tel: 09447316701 --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ greenyouth mailinglist is the activist support mailinglist for kerala To post to this group, send email to [email protected] -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
