hi

i was not condemning any one.. though i might sound so ...
and it's not just a chitralekha issue that is of my concern
i m least concerned abt whether sara joseph, ajita and dilip raj fall on one
side or other
my intention to "irritate " people through this discussion forum was to
focus the attention of this small group into some invisible side of kerala
discourses...
i was not attempting that ajita or sara joseph come forward and take up the
issue..
even those who have done that had problems as chitralekha never remain
within their imagination of a "victim"
it's abt how the so called civil society in kerala takes up issues,
u have pointed out that udayakumar becomes less newsworthy,
chitralekha, neetu, rajni all remain victims of our insensitive civil
society
not only samskarika nayakar, the academics, politicians, activists etc etc
in kerala seem to be afraid of initiating debate on caste..
samskarika nayakar r a product of such environment as well
without addressing the caste question, chitralekhs issue need not possibly
be debated
morality and politics r just secondary
i am glad that at least some people responded..
if an e-group can help propagating the case of chitralekha and she gets some
relief, good...such attemts should be supported ...
as she is a victim of "untouchability" and caste discrimination(remember she
had to run away from her village after the incident), it's an opportunity
for the academia to re-think on its analytical priorities
of course these r not mandatory, but need not remain only as personal
choices
thanks and regarsd to all
