I am not saying about my position.The cpim think says
so(that's why,i put -note this line).
I don't agree with Vijay prashad's line.But,he points
out the limitation of indian liberal democarcy's
path.How is to combat this reality?The single issue
movements must understand this.
The self limit politics of the single issue movements
is very well known.
My position on plachimada you can seen in
Epw(2005,july last,letter to the editor)).The Self
rule politics of adivasis has been facing a lot of
problems has given its hollowness in various parts of
india.don't romantise these matters.
Immanuel wallesrtein who has brilliantly analysed
problems of these movements.He is also part of WSF.At
least,please understand the languages of these
movements(their revolt,agency,character,role etc).I am
always interacting with idealogues and scholars of
these movements like peter waterman.If you want,i can
send all these details.One of the well known
international movement of this type is Tobin tax
etx.Have you noticed it?Recently,I have a good
interaction with Soumithra bose(kolkata-if you are
member of orkut,please go to my scrap)
Rajani kothari,ramachandra guha,saran ghatak etc wrote
a lot about these movements in indian context.
Bengal and CPM-
Basically,Cpim is a part of the movement of the third
international(it shares this past).It came into power
in w.bengal 1997.In liberal democarcy,this is in
office not in power.During those times,The cpim had
just 30,000 members.later,it expanded its base.Now,it
reaches a new crisis.This crisis is also a part of
neo-liberalsim.It has to revise its redisrtibution
politics fully.Economic ctizenship of the state has
been eroded fully.In such situation,It has to rewrite
cpim politics fully.This is also a crisis of survival.
