Dear Viswanath,
Corporate social responsibility is not a movement as I understand it. There
was a wide movement from the people affected by corporates but that was on
corporate accountability. For example 'students for Bhopal' brought
factsheets on TATAs and Dow chemicals and have been fighting on this
constantly. And as movements as people who ask for accountability from the
state, I feel we as people should ask accountability and transparency from
the corporates too. Because for me they are institutions, which is
functional in the society. And 'corporate social responsibility' is just a
term, but not a movement. How do you define movement, I for the purpose in
this list use it for socio political movements.

PS. As this is becoming a dialogue between me and you, better chat it off
the group I feel. Because of increasing mails and so and so.
