AFAIK, Growl is free (although there is a "donate" link, it's quite obviously not compulsory). So I don't know that there's a mechanism to _compel_ anyone bundling Growl to obtain permission or offer an option. However, I think it ought to be possible to _request_ that those bundling Growl make installing it an option (and since it's not a base OS feature, that they be able to work without it installed), which would certainly help (and could then be added to a FAQ to show that some action had been taken to deter the sort of behavior being complained about here). -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Growl Discuss" group.
