Growl was likely installed by something else. If you have an HP printer, Adobe CS5, or an older version of Dropbox, those are likely culprits.
I'm not really sure I understand what you mean by "double click in the pop-up to move it to the system". That said, I can tell you what is supposed to happen. When that pops up and you click on it (single click is fine) then it's supposed to open a web page in your default browser to our website. That's all. Now, I'm not sure why you have this whole other hardware problem with the popping or the frozen system. I'd recommend dropping the apple hardware test cd if they still ship it with new hardware in, just to see if there is a problem since this is a brand new mac and you're well within your warranty period.
