Hi all,

I think the case sensitive filesystem doesnt matter, the problem is a
unclean volume, w/ errors.

In my case, booting holding CMD + R, and launch disk utility, then check &
repair entire filesystem(s), fix permissions. Uninstall Growl by using some
good uninstall tool (cleanMyMac), then reinstall Growl, it will work :-)

It works for me!
