Thanks Christian

I'm aware of both of those ->

* Cog -> single file at a time (no recursion)
* Firefox -> http based and depends on Old firefox 1.5
* VFSManager -> not supported on mac
*       Gridftp.net -> obviously only Win
* Trebuchet -> works on non-Intel based macs but uses "active"
transfers and therefore doesn't work at a lot of sites

Would like the tool to be gui-based, able to do recursive transfer and
operate in passive mode.

Cheers

As far as I know there isn't anything like a native Mac client out
there, but you may want to try the Firefox GridFTP extension
http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/grid/library/gr-firefoxftp/ or the
Java-based Commodity Grid Kit http://wiki.cogkit.org/index.php.
