Hi all
Sorry about the delay in providing feedback. Tried out the client on
Linux, Win and Mac and it seems to work well except on Windows. Upload
works, download doesn't appear to work. Using any of the "download"
methods (double-click on file, download button or menu option) do not
appear to work. The status window shows the download progress but no
file is created on the local system.
Any ideas why this works on Linux & Mac but not Win?

is there a firewall on the windows machine?

Subject: Re: [gt-user] gridftp on mac

To whet the appetite... Here is a screenshot showing 6 files being
transferred via gridftp from our SRM/DRM storage server to my laptop
using cgftp.  Some notes:

   - Asks for certificate password at the initiation of each gridftp
login, doesn't appear to remember to use the existing already-created
proxy

   - Uses parallelism of 1 even if higher values have been selected
in options

   - some non-intuitive nature of the site add and delete functions -
beware! It is easy to delete a file rather than a site connection
definition if you are not careful - use "Site... Delete Site" rather
than clicking on the "Delete" icon just above the list of sites the
latter applies to the files you may have selected.

In any case, it works perfectly well on macs and I imagine will work
OK modulo the above notes on other platforms as well.

It would be nice to have the libraries and API for building into
other clients for services as well. Charles, please do press the
authors (with our thanks in advance) to post this.

There's a new GUI GridFTP client that was written in Shanghai.
They've joined as an incubator project at <http://dev.globus.org/
wiki/Incubator/SGGC>. They don't have a link to their .jar files
up yet, but I know they exist. I'll see if they can edit the wiki
page and make the downloads more generally available.
