They are aftermarket. But first before you buy one, you have to make sure
they're legal in your country (Britain, correct?).
There are several sources. Either you can do a search on "headlight
modulators" from any good search engine (try www.google.com) or you can go
to:

www.kriss.com
and I don't remember any others. The unit I use is from Signal
Dynamics--the Diamond Star with the remote switch, cause I mounted the
thing under the front cowling. If you use the modulator on a bike that has
no fairing, they also make a Diamond Star with the switch built in.
