It is generally accepted that the "flat spot" or surge that the GTS has is at
low RPM, steady throttle, low gears. I noticed it while giving my daughter
rides around the neighborhood where I was trying to ride somewhere between
2000 and 3000 RPM. The problem is also more noticable cold, which is
indicative of a lean situation. Any time a problem diminishes when the bike
warms up, it indicates lean because an engine runs richer as it warms up. If
someone is having problems in other RPMs or the problem is more noticable
hot, it is not the issue being addressed at the website or by TPS adjustment.
