Well, after six long months I have my GTS back. It's gotten:
o Bored .010 over
o New pistons and rings
o Valve job (since the oil consumed gummed up some valves)
o New air filters (they LOST the ones I'd recently put in)

I was given a 60-day, unlimited warranty on the motor (which
has only 32,000 miles on it.) I'd asked for the measurements of
piston to cylinder clearance, and ring end-gap, but they
didn't do it. @#$%^&*

I'm now in the process of breaking it in, I have 200 miles on
it so far. I haven't yet taken it to 5000 RPM, so am not sure
if the buzz/vibration in the seat is there or not. Indications
seem to be that it's still there. I'll check more thoroughly
after it's broken in.

I'll also take it to a different dealer after some more miles
and have a compression and leak-down test performed just to
see if it's where it's supposed to be.

There's a buzzing in the fairing, but that's probably due to
the missing screws in the center grey portion. (perfect.)

They didn't route the wiring for my PIAA on/off switch, so
I have to pull the console apart to do it myself.

I was promised that they'd detail it inside and out, even
before the motor went back into the rolling chassis.
They didn't even WASH the friggin' thing, let alone clean the chain.

The seat wasn't properly latched when I picked it up. It
was jammed on and took me five minutes to get it off and
mount it properly.

More updates as I find things.

In the meantime, it's interesting getting back on the thing
and re-learning how to ride it. The clutch is WAY different
than the Vmax and Venture. (oh, and I had to remove and re-attach
the gear shift lever- it was at an impossibly weird angle)
I had forgotten just how great the GTS is in traffic- It's nice
and narrow, easy for getting between the cages.

Oh, and one other thing- I seem to have forgotten where
the choke lever is; I can't find it anywhere. ;-)
