Every year, all the manufacturers have a show where they announce the
plans for the upcoming year. My understanding is that Yamaha will have a
dealer show in mid-June. No, we can't attend, it's closed to all but
dealers.
On the other hand, that's when they'd let the news out if anything new is
coming stateside. And it will take the internet about 4 nanoseconds to
pick up on any signficant announcements. So, in a month or so, we may
have the word that the FJR is being sold here in 2002. And without an
announcement to that effect, you can pretty well kiss goodbye any hope of
seeing one in the U.S. that's not grey-market.
