I don't know why Mark had such a difficult time. I thought the pattern given
was pretty straight forward and all you need is a drill and a utility knife
or a dremel tool. Took me about 5 mins to cut the holes. BTW, this
"butchering" of the underneath rear fender amounts to about a 1/8" x 1-1/2"
slot on each side of the underneath rear fender. If you get the Krausers you
have to drill the painted side panels. The Givi rack can be taken off the
bike and you can't really tell it was on there, but with the Krausers you
still have the side panels with holes in them. It is easier to get the side
panels off for maintenance with the Krausers though. Also some people
dislike the Givi "plates" when the bags aren't on the bike, but my bags
usually stay on so no big deal. As far as the Monorack which is for the top
case only, you would have to make the same slots under the fender just like
for the wingrack. I don't know if a monorack will work if you have Krausers
now (don't know if you do or not Peter) because the holes that the Krauser
mounting hardware fits on is the same holes Givi uses. You might want to
check with Mike Coan since he's already been through these iterrations with
both types of bags. Hope this helps...Bob B.

butchering of GTS plastic for the top case only?
