Assuming that they did not "tow" the bike when it was impounded, in which
case it will almost certainly be damaged....Let me know what its condition
is when he gets it back.

Turns out after a lot of hassle that Dave is getting his Suzuki back from
the police impound lot.  Either 1) someone in Canada entered the wrong VIN
on the theft report (likely the case) or 2) Suzuki screwed up in the
manufacturing process and put a U.S. RF900 VIN on a Canadian-spec 750 (not
at all likely the case).

At any rate, the bike my friend bought is legit, and after a few days of
hassles, and having to talk to a lot of police, and not getting to title
and ride it 'cause it's impounded and in the police lot.....he's getting
the bike back today.  If he can get there before they close for the night.
